An external style of the Chinese martial arts composed of performance routines known as taolu 套路 and self-defense techniques known as sanda 散打. Wushu emphasizes detail, speed, power, and agility. Each taolu simulates self-defense techniques as well incorporating acrobatic movements that enhance the spectacle of the routine. All students begin by learning the basic movements, followed by taolu that progress in complexity and difficulty as they advance. More advanced routines include the use of demonstration weapons. There are three main levels: Eagles, Tigers and Dragons. Each level is subdivided into Copper, Silver and Gold.

Eagles

Students begin their wushu journey at East Cloud Kungfu as Eagles. The Eagles range in experience from beginners to a lower intermediate level. This is the “wushu fundamentals stage” that focuses primarily on modern wushu and kickboxing (also known as Sanda). In this level, students will develop their basic knowledge and skills in Kungfu, as well as acquire experience in public demonstrations.
